Injury & Rehabilitation
You’re injured, in pain, contemplating surgery or you’ve recently had an operation…? "How can I help you?"
The first thing we need to do is to figure out what’s happened & how severe the injury is. From there we can, together, create a “Treatment Plan” that will fit into your lifestyle & get you back to fitness as quickly as possible.
“What does a session look like?”
1. Your “story” comes first. We have plenty of time, there’s no rush – I want to hear everything about how you hurt yourself, how the injury has been since, plus, what it is you want to get back to doing.
That might be high-level sports or simply playing with the kids or grandkids. Your “expectations” & “goals” are key to getting your “Treatment Plan” correct.
2. Assessing your injury, how much function you’ve lost & how irritable your pain is – all of this comes after I’ve listened to your history.

3. Lastly, if appropriate, we’ll try a number of exercises to help restore your function. If you’re a member of the gym, or contemplating joining, we’ll use the equipment. But this can also be an exercise programme you can do at home.

4. Lastly, I always follow up with a very detailed Report summarising everything that happened in our session.
Being injured & being in pain is a worrying time. Obviously it hurts(!) but there’s also the anxiety of not knowing what’s happened, how long it will last & will you ever get better again?!
Throughout our time together I will strive to help you to understand all of this, to reduce your fears & to guide you back to your full fitness.

From the mid 1980’s for 10 years I ran a personal training company, becoming one of the early “Celebrity Trainers” within the music industry & TV Comedians (very niche)!
​
I then transitioned to Formula 1, working for McLaren to research & design their Drivers’ Physiology Lab & a Fitness Centre for the Mechanics & staff.
​
This role expanded to becoming “Head of Driver Performance” which involved being on the F1 tour around the world looking after the drivers & Race Team.
​
In 2002 I left F1 to focus on teaching massage, anatomy, biomechanics & rehabilitation.
During this time, I also designed & installed a number of private & commercial gyms.
​
For the past 16 years, I’ve lived in North Devon, treating clients to get ready for surgery, helping them rehab’ after surgery plus all the usual injuries we get from surfing, biking, rugby, netball, etc!
Prices
The initial session is 90 minutes long. This gives me enough time to really listen to your story, figure out what’s going on & to create, with you, a Treatment Plan to restore your fitness.
All of this is £70
Follow up sessions, when necessary, are 60 minutes. These are £55.
